"A small window display that had colorful African dresses in it caught my eye and so my teammate and I walked in. The owner of the store welcomed us with much enthusiasm. She shared how she helps her community back home in Kenya by selling the dresses they sew and carvings/purses/jewelry they make in their village. Her business helps support their livelihood so families can eat and have clean water. After talking for over 30 minutes she knew I was a Christian and was living close by her store. She pleaded and said, 'Oh, can you please bring me a Bible? I do not have one.' She said, 'Come by as often as you want and read to me and teach me to study the Word of God and we will drink Kenyan tea together!' She gave me her work schedule and kept saying how thankful she was we stopped by. My teammate read her a Psalm of David because she was sharing how discouraged she was that day. We prayed for her and she didn't want us to leave. My supervisor has a Swahili Bible I can give her in addition to an English Bible. All that to say, it was an unexplainable encounter apart from God's gracious spirit. I cannot wait to become good friends with this woman."
